Science vs

Fuller House

As fun as it was to see D.J. pull a Catherine Zeta-Jones, real laser beams in laser security systems are not visible to the naked eye!

The main characteristic of a laser beam is that the light is traveling in the same direction, which means very little of it escapes in the direction of your eye if you’re looking at it from the side. This is why, for example with the laser pointers we use for presentations, we can’t see the beam itself cross the distance from the device to the projection screen; instead, we only see the point where the laser hits the screen and bounces back toward you.
